this year *I*'m giving gift certificates to my neices and nephews, the
nephews being teens and my neices being pre-teens. (A really serious late
December work deadline = Christmas gifts all around from me!) What are top gift certificates to give teen boys and pre-teen girls? |

-Of course it depends on the young persons favorite stores/activites, but I
can tell you that I have several cousins in the 8-15 range, and in recent
years I have given gift certificates for: - Bobs store (a chain here in CT that sells jeans, clothes and sneakers) - Old Navy - ToysRUs (the boys love to get video games there) - the music store at the mall, - Friendlys (ice cream/sandwich type restaurant at the mall) - Walmart or Kmart (they can get just about ANYTHING) - mall gift certificates (our local mall has gift cards that are good for
ANY store at the mall) - Limited Too for the girls. -Barnes and Noble A couple of others that went over particularly well: - Blockbuster gift cards (for renting videos/movies) - Movie Cash (movie theater gift certificates that you can use for either
movie admission or concessions) One year when my little brother was still in the 'preteen' age range, I knew
that my parents were giving him a fish tank, so I gave him a gift
certificate for the local pet store and he was able to pick a bunch of fish
for in his tank...he thought that was great. -I was the queen of my niece's 12th birthday a few months ago by giving
her a gift certificate to her local mall. It works anywhere in the
mall. She was thrilled. She *still* says it was her best present. (maybe I should just quit trying to be creative and do the same thing
again for Christmas) For her mall, I had to buy that one in person,
though -- so I couldn't have done it if I hadn't been visiting right
around her birthday. A phone call to the mall would tell you whether
or not they'll sell them over the phone if you are not local. |
