Need Ideas for Texas Christmas ornaments?
I need some ideas for decorating a Christmas tree. The theme is "All
Creatures Great and Small" |

-I don't have the recipe right with me, but would be happy
to look it up if you or anyone else is interested. I tried a
recipe last year for ornaments/aromatic hangers last year
that is really only limited in shape to the shape of cookie
cutters you can happen to find. It was made basically of
cinnamon, applesauce, some glue (yeah, glue), and other
spices & stuff --- like I said I'll have to look it up. It makes a dough
that you can roll out and cut with cookie cutters with no
problem, and smells like pure spices for the holidays. Just a
thought, but I liked them and they have the flexibility for an
unlimited variety of animals . . . - I've used a similar recipe to make cinnomon ornements myself. The
recipe I've used is simply cinnomon and applesauce, mixed together until
you get a clay type consistancy that can be rolled and cut. I've never
heard of glue and I'm wondering of that helps hold it together better.
I've always had a problem with cracking during the drying process. -The ones I made with the 'glue' reciped turned out just fine
last year ---- still have a couple of them right here. I don't
recall having any trouble with them cracking. I *DO* remember
want to make sure I didn't roll the dough any thinner than 1/4' though. I have another similar-type recipe without the
glue that came with a cooking mold ---- I haven't tried it out
yet, though. |
