Who's still got their Christmas decorations still gracing
the home decor in Texas? I'll put my hand up......
I noticed DUST on my Santa-decorated mantel yesterday. Guess that
is a good sign that I need to get to work and put stuff away. |

-You put Christmas decorations up? My, aren't we Martha Stewart. I laid some cypress and pine cones on the mantel, lit a bunch of
candles, and put fudge every five feet. Voila, Christmas. DH still
thought it was kind of overdone. -The decorations are slowly making
their way to the "tray" in the kitchen, which means they're steps away
from the attic door. Almost gone. (Who knows how long something stays next
to the "tray"......) But I've decided the keep the tree up til Valentine's day. Call me crazy!
I like it; especially since all the loot from underneath has been put
where it belongs and all that's there now is my beautiful Hidden Wells
quilted tree skirt, the first "real" quilt I've ever made..... -You don't put Christmas decorations away until after Old Christmas Day (Jan.6). Okay, I don't put them away until then. I figure you have
to celebrate the 12 days of Christmas. On the other hand, they rarely get up before Dec.20. Needn't drag out
the season too long. On a quilting note: I put a quilted ornament (burgundy and off-white
star) as the focal point on one of the christmas wreaths. For next year,
I intend to make some quilted Christmas pillows (bought the fabric after
Boxing Day ) and maybe a quilted table cloth (I"ll actually have a table
by then! ). |
