Ideas for christmas table decorations

Does anybody have any good ideas for table decorations for christmas? Or could you point me in the direction of a good magazine or book?

-my Mum always used to gather up things like pinecones, leaves, holly etc, mount them on a piece of stout cardboard and spray-paint them gold. Cheap & cheerful - but they worked. -I knew someone, who used to mount things, the police took him away. The BBC web site has a lot about Menwith Hill Drew, it's consistent with what you said last week. -You couldn't do better than decorate the Christmas table with some fine, fragrant (not scented) beeswax candles. This is no more an advert than the mention of honeycomb in another thread or Allen's mention of WHS so please, Linz or anyone else, while you do a great job on real violators, don't waste your time telling me to go elsewhere with my wares! -Alternatively get some florists oasis stuff in a cone shape, hunt for a holly tree and some pine cones in your local park/green area...wrap wire around the base of the cones, spray them gold then stick the wires and holly into the cone..making a pointy tree type decoration. If you have a rectangular dining table, one of those mantle garlands looks nice laid down the middle, get some cheap napkin rings (from your pound shop!) and decorate with fake poinsettias or what ever matches...If you want new table linen..make your own cheaply by buying fabric from your local sari shop...you'll be amazed at the range of colours, fabrics and the prices!
