We took advantage of the long weekend to do quite a bit of work around the
apartment. I cleaned out and reorganized the fabric and sewing closet, cleaned out and
reorganized the spice drawer and kitchen cabinet where the tupperware
containers are, we washed folded and put away 8 loads of laundry, I cleaned out
and reorganized 4 dresser drawers, I emailed my 8 winning ebay bidders and
weighed and packed the items, I took down the old kitchen curtains and rods and
am going to cut out the new plainer panel curtains and stitch them up this
evening. There's 2 more loads of laundry in the laundry room getting ready to
be dried so we can put them away, and we cooked 2 meals worth of a ground
turkey "spanish rice" dish. I also sorted, purged, and repacked/organized the
Christmas decorations into one storage box, as well as pricing and boxing up
another box full of rummage sale stuff. So, by bedtime tonight will we have made some tremendous progress? It's only just starting to show, there's much more left to do, but it is
progress, and we are getting more out than we are bringing in, and we have
stopped the shopping for entertainment, and are maintaining areas around the
apartment a little bit better now. So, it should not backslide much.
Any idea else? |

-This weekend my energy level has been kind of low, but I did manage to do my 15
min. per day decluttering an outside storage room and finished that today. Now
I can declutter some of the paint cans and equipment from the laundry room into
the storage room where they belong, and maybe by the end of the week finally be
able to move my sewing machine back into the laundry/craft room where it
belongs. If so, I intend to celebrate by starting on the wall quilt for my bedroom. One
of the things I noticed from reading "Clear Your Clutter with Feng Shui" this
weekend is that my bedroom is in the so-called prosperity area of my house, and
there are two areas of that room that have always seemed kind of of blah to me.
At any rate, a wall quilt on one wall that currently has only a kind of boring
poster will definitely perk the place up, even if it doesn't win me the
lottery! And even thinking about the quilt and planning it in my mind has been
very pleasurable the past few days. Speaking of feng shui, I posted yesterday or so that in response to that book I
decluttered a bunch of negative-feeling craft books from my bedside table.
Maybe doing that gave some kind of positive prosperity energy jolt, because
just today my mother in law stopped by and presented my husband and me with a
totally unexpected gift of money to help pay for our family vacation in August. -These sort of things were happening when I worked on 'prosperity' ralated
items or sections. If I cleared off the the table in our DR (it's in our
prosperity bagua) we got a surprise, or forgotten, check in the mail. If I
cleaned out the financial filing 'hot spot' or tossed a wad of receipts we'd
get some money unexpectedly or, if expectedly, we'd get it later the same
day. It was a weird coincidence that happened very frequently. |
