Anybody see the strip where Peppermint Patty accidentally hits Snoopy
with the baseball during a baseball game and Charlie Brown chews her out and
he and his team leave? That's a hilarious piece! I think that's the only
time Charlie Brown really chewed anybody out. Most of the time he didn't
have the stomach to do that.
How about when he railed against people who put Christmas decorations
up before Halloween? |

-Is that the one where Linus and CB carried Snoopy out on a
stretcher, and he thought "Carry me gently men, I'm a
superstar!" (or something close to that). - that was when CB kicked Lucy off the team and she distracted Snoopy
so that he got hit on the head with a fly ball. He was talking about the
strip that was rerun this Sunday. I also like it when Charlie Brown occasionally "gets tough." How about
the time he won Rerun's marbles back from Joe Agate? That was a bit
disconcerting for me because there was no "gotcha" at then end; CB was
plainly and simply a winner. But once I got over that, I thought it
was a hilarious story, with great allusions (to Shane). -I loved the "Joe Agate" strips. I think CB came out the hero in
that one, because it was a matter of justice. It wasn't just
his desire to win at something (ANYTHING!) that motivated him in
this one. |
