Before Christmas, I don't put up a tree, but I do string some cool blinking
lights up in my studio apartment bay windows. I was motivated by the
Christmas tree thread, so I got them out of the closet and viola! They're
up, and they look cool. Is is possible? |

-I am still not sure if I want to put up lights in the windows of my
apartment. My apartment is on the 14th floor and it faces toward
a private high school where there is rarely anyone around after
sunset. As such, the view of the lights from half the ground just
isn't that great, but its fun to put them up anyway. Yesterday, I was supposed to go over a friend's house to help them
decorate the exterior of their house with lights. Unfortunately, we
got rained out. Hopefully, our plans to do the decorating this
Wednesday will work out. -Putting those tiny lights on our windows is one of the more enjoyable
actions in winter (the least enjoyable is to dig out the winter clothes
fully well knowing that it means 3-4 month of cold before us). Actually I look forward to it. Next sunday is the first advent sunday (4 weeks before christmas the sundays are counted up) and we will put
out our christmas lights on Saturday. Unfortunately I was unable to
find a door-wreath to my liking up to now so will have to make do with
white lights and a swedish light in the kitchen window, a star in our
workroom window and a star of bethlehem in our living-room window.
No blinking though as that would make my head spin mercilessly. -Arrange them so they look best from the inside for your own enjoyment.
From the ground they'll see the lights but no detail, which will be
nice enough, but do what adds to your interior ambience (eg. face
things in instead of out). |
