Why not try making little miniature Chrismas

On Christmas ornaments - when ever I find an OLD book on making beaded
ornaments with those large plastic beads - I grab them up and take them
home. The plan is to play with the instructions using seed and bugle bead
substitutes. I agree, some of the old ornament designs using the large
acrylic or plastic beads would make great minitures when using smaller
beads.. made a really fun necklace a few years ago using miniature Christmas
ornaments. I took inexpensive chain and made a 30" necklace. The chain
has good-sized loops. I attached the ornaments to the necklace. (The
ornaments had loops which only had to be opened, attached to the necklace,
then closed.) I filled out the necklace with gold and silver bugle beads
which had been threaded on a headpin and then attached to the necklace,
and with gold, red, and green "jingle" bells. It's a fun necklace that
brings loads of comments at Christmas. I've sold several of them right
off my neck. This year I'm going to make some "themed" necklaces: one
will be all different Santa ornaments, another will be angels. Of course,
being a tightwad, I buy the ornaments after Christmas! |
