sometime last year I bought a piece of natural colored aida into which
goldthreads were woven. I bought the piece at a needlework store in
Bangkok where I used to live, never seen it before and actually never
heard of it.
I just started stitching on it the other day, a small christmas
ornament. Now I'm just wondering if you guys have heard of aida like
this. It stitches up nicely except it is sometimes hard to see the
holes because of the gold thread. I think using this fabric for
christmas ornaments is a good idea, makes 'em look even more festive.
Who know more abt gold thread to make into Christmas ornaments? |

Oh.... is there such aida cloth? hmm.... i have never seen that in
Singapore.... or is that a new one? or is it a product of Bangkok? They
always seems to have products of their own...LOL
We are always very out-dated of those new materials.... and very
expensive... but it would be nice to be made into christmas ornament.. I
think that it would really look nice..... By the way... is there any
stitcher who are in Thailand, bangkok? I visit the place once a year( for
praying) and would love to visit some of the LNS there... can anyone
recommend me something? where i can visit next time... if possible...
please give me the address of the place too... I purchased 14 ct. Aida with gold threads running through it at Hobby Lobby in
Lincoln, Nebraska. It was on a large bolt and could be cut to the size you
needed. if I remember correctly there was also Aida with silver threads
running through it. I am assuming that all Hobby Lobbys would have it or at
least be able to get it too. |
