WANTED info about GE X-mas Lights

I am trying to compile a history of the Christmas light sets that we know today. I am aware of the Golden glow and a few other clubs however I would like some other net insight. anybody have any history or know any? also when did manufactures stop using the cotton cords When did GE come up with the standard swirl logo? What is meant by GE MAZDA lamps? Was it a joint effort?

I'l attempt to answer these in a rather off-the-top-of-my-head fashion as the season is taking all my free time. If anyone else out there has knowledge different than my own, please let me (us!) know. In 1895 "festive holiday lights" were being offered at major department stores across the country for rent or sale. I believe one had a choice of four lamps or eight lamps/string, operating on batteries. Considering the year, they were quite expensive to purchase (ca. $10./4 lamp string) It wasn't until 1899 that they were officially termed "Electric Christmas Tree Lights" (prior to this they were not for xmas only) They had cloth cords, and wood sockets. The cone-shaped bulbs we see today were not until ca. 1921 (see Mazda below) priou to this they looked like mini light bulbs of the day (hand blown with vacuum teats at the top) Colour was achieved by using coloured glass including milk glass. The imports used a spray laquer on clear glass.
