Easy To Make Christmas Presents, pls help?

I don't post here much but I do try to read as often as I can, and the majority of the posts seem intelligent:) mostly:) and people seem to get help when needed. I am mussing over a little problem I have, nothing big, but I was looking for suggestions, perhaps one I have not thought of. I list mainly art prints and tattoo books on Ebay, my wife is an artist with many medical problems so I stay at home to look after her and take her to doctors and hospitals for tests, she is presently waiting for 2 transplants and is legally blind, so what we make online and craft shows is all we have to live on, we get by but barely, somehow each month we seem to get just enough for the bills(or close to it), this is not to get any sympathy, just to give a little back ground. Anyways, because of our financial limitations we like barter, sorry, we Love Barter! :) this year that is how we are able to give anyone Christmas gifts, we trade our items for other peoples on the net. we also belong to a few barter clubs, where you sell items to other members and spend the barter money with other members, well we are in one club where it is fairly easy to make Barter cash but with not much locally to use it on. twice Previously I sold 50 of our tattoo art books to another barter member, this person told me it was for fundraising, I did not question, no need and I really did not care:) Well this person emailed me last week and said they would like to buy another 20 sets(100 books), I told him we had decided that we were not selling through the club anymore and were going to spend what we had and then quit, but I would be willing to sell direct at wholesale or trade direct if he had anything, he said trade direct would be great. I took a look at his Amazon store and peeked through over 3000 of his items, I made a list and submitted it to him, I was quite excited, it was for over 800.00 worth of items, we were going to have a good Christmas for a change, I was going to get gifts for all my friends and relatives for once, it was a time to try to put our problems behind us for a change:) He responded to the list with a few changes, he was sold out of some items, some were on consignment for others, I forgot his items were in U.S. dollars and mine were in Canadian, but all that was workable. it was during this time I was fiddling around on Ebay and stumbled across one of this persons auctions, I did not even know he was on Ebay, I searched his auctions and found he was selling our books on Ebay, For Less than I was! I sold to him through the barter group at 10.00/book Canadian, he was selling a set of 5 books for 19.99 + 10.00 shipping U.S.. This is why some of my business has dropped off, Now I do not know if I should complete this deal with him. If I do it will be a nice Christmas this year but will cost me in the long run, if I don't he will run out of books and business should pick up a little, over time, but a sparse Christmas for the family, I had a lot of toys picked out for my little girl:( I don't know what I should do... I did relist this week and since I had a pile of extra books(the printers screwed up) I put up a dutch auction with sets at 19.95 + 5.05 shipping, this beats his price a little but I don't make much once all the costs are factored in. Well I think I have covered all the points and have rambled on enough, writing this has helped put everything in my mind in proper places, I think I will complete the deal, my family deserves the best Christmas I can put on, I will figure out future cashflow as I can, I think I will have to cut the order down though and only get for family, my friends will understand, perhaps he would be happy with only 50 books. Any suggestion pls help me?

Dump the Christmas presents, buy food and drink and be merry with your family. I'm sure this is disappointing, but when someone buys in quantity, it's obvious they're wanting to make money on the products. You said that when you listed the items in bulk, you didn't make much -- but it seems you were happy when he bought in bulk *from* you. Forgetting everything else, (Christmas, money problems, your wife's health, etc, etc), what's the best way for YOU to make money from these products? Seems like if he can make money selling your books on ebay, you should be able to as well.
