I get more and more Christmas greetings by email. I don't think it's
cheap, but I miss Christmas cards. I miss being able to tack them up at
Christmas time to brighten my office cubicle and apartment. I miss
seeing the fun and amusing pictures (most of the Christmas clip art all
looks the same and it's rarely as creative as some of the cards, or if
there is a fun and creative picture I'll get the same one from twenty
different people). I miss having the cards to look back on years later.
I guess I could print the web page or the email but it's not the same.
But I think I'm in the minority, though, most people seem to dislike
Christmas cards and throw them away.
Anyone suppose
me? |

I'm with you, Karen. I certainly appreciate greetings whereever and however,
but I love Christmas cards and love sending them. I don't throw them away,
though, I save them to cut up to make my own gift tags or for other
decorating projects. Martha Stewart magazine last Christmas had a wonderful
set of instructions for making ornaments from them, too. I recycle mine that way, too. A couple years ago, I learned how
to make small gift boxes out of cards, about the size of jewelry gift
boxes. It's not always super-useful, but if you give a lot of small
trinkets or jewelry as presents, it makes for nice presentation. |
