I thought it would be enjoyable to read what type of Disney decorations
are found on your Christmas tree, by responding to the following: 1) Do you have an exclusively Disney themed Christmas tree or are your Disney
ornaments hung on a tree with other non-Disney Christmas ornaments? 2) What is your Disney tree topper? 3) How do you decorate the area under the tree (Disney tree skirt, Disney train
set, Disney monorail set, Disney lighted houses, etc.)? 4) Where do you purchase your Disney ornaments (at Disney theme parks, The
Disney Store, Hallmark, Grolier, the World of Disney store in Manhattan, etc.)? 5) Do you concentrate collecting ornaments of a certain area of Disney (theme
parks, a particular Disney movie or character, etc.) or do you collect all
types of Disney ornaments? 6) What is your favorite Disney ornament(s)? 7) What new Disney ornament(s) did you purchase or receive this year? 8) Do you display Disney items (besides ornaments) on your Christmas tree, such
as Disney pins, Disney action figures, etc.? Your Disney Christmas Ornaments? |

My response to this thread is as follows: 1) Each of my Christmas trees are themed, one of which is a "100 Acre Wood"
theme. I have a few narrow 6' tall artificial trees with a real tree bark
center (which remind me of the "Charlie Brown Christmas tree"), that I use
instead of one large Christmas tree. 2) At the top of my tree, I have a folk art white wooden star (with a red heart
in the center of the star) attached to the tree with a metal spring. Holding
onto the "spring" and the top of the tree is a bendable plush Tigger (whose
"bottom is made out of springs"). If you recall, Tigger grabbing onto the top
of a tree is a scene from the Disney film "The Many Adventures of Winnie the
Pooh". 3) In 2001, The Disney Store sold 10" plush bendable characters with an
armature inside that allowed the character to stand on its own feet (which
reminded me of the Disney characters in the theme parks). Under the tree I
have Winnie the Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore and Rabbit...while Tigger is stuck at the
top of the tree. 4) I have purchased the Christmas ornaments at the Hallmark stores, the Disney
theme parks, The Disney Store, DisneyDirect.com, the World of Disney store in
Manhattan and three Grolier ornaments on ebay. 5) At the moment, I mainly collect "100 Acre Wood" character ornaments.
However, I do own a few ornaments from Disney films and WDW, which I haven't
displayed as of yet. (I'm still deciding if I want to have a Disney or WDW
themed Christmas tree too.) 6) My favorite Disney ornament is probably the Boyd's Mohair Winnie the Pooh (wearing a red "Pooh" sweater and Santa hat) ornament...though Hallmark has
produced a few unique 100 Acre Wood ornaments these past few years. 7) My new Christmas ornaments include "Wings For Eeyore", the "100 Acre
Express", "Stocking Stuffers", "Friends Forever" & "A Sticky Situation" from
Hallmark, the "Eeyore Dewdrop" ornament from DisneyDirect.com and a resin
Tigger ornament from The Disney Store. 8) I display my "100 Acre Wood" pins, each on the center of a red bow (that
matches Pooh's shirt) on the branches of the tree. Additionally, I have "The
Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh" die cast attraction vehicle car toy
displayed on an inside branch of the tree. what a year to be asked these questions. I've been traveling so
much & hardly ever home, so I planned to skip putting up the tree this year.
However, when I came home from a business trip a couple days before Christmas
my son had put up the tree. It's 7.5 feet, with the lights already on it. He
hadn't bothered with the tree skirt, and only put 4 ornaments on it . I
added a few more - we ended up with a total of 7 on the tree. 2 of them were
Disney - there was the little Disney cruise ship and the metal Mickey Ears with
jingle bells inside. Both of them were purchased in 2004, and that's why they
made it onto the tree (they hadn't been put away properly & were easily
accessible ). 1. Our tree is Disney plus everything else - ornaments from our travels, past
places I lived, just whatever catches my eye 2. No Disney tree topper 3. Nothing Disney under the tree - really should upgrade the tree skirt to
Disney, though. 4. WDW, cruise ship 5. I don't "collect" - I'll get whatever catches my eye (if anything does) 6. Tough to say - probably the medallion of Vero or Hilton Head resort 7. Purchased the 2 mentioned above. Gave the same metal Mickey head to each
of the 4 dept heads who report to me for Christmas this year. Gave the
star-shaped version (a set of them) to a friend in CA. Gave an Eeyore ornament
to a friend who likes Eeyore. 8. No - don't have any of that stuff, and don't want any. OK My theme is cartoon characters. Its mostly Disney with a few Looney tunes
and Nick Jr thrown in.Oh and don't forget Opus and Bill there are a few
glass ornament thrown in but the majority are cartoon characters. I have a 2
sets of lights that have pooh covers. I also have 2 small pooh plush
animations, they are the size of a really large beanie and plug into the
light set and move when the tree is lit.
The tree topper is pooh coming out of a Christmas present we got that many
moons ago at the Disney store.
I don't have a real tree skirt it is a small table cloth that is a Christmas
plaid. Around the bottom of the tree are a whole bunch of Christmas plushes
and beanies mostly Disney...of that mostly pooh and friends. My favorite of
the beanies isn't a Disney one though, it is Pinky and the Brain that I got
from Warner Brothers Studio Store before they closed.
I got most of my ornaments from the Disney store hubby worked there at one
point and if I was lucky enough and there were ornaments after Christmas the
prices with his discount were hard to resist. We got a few at WDW. A lot of
the Looney tunes ones were bought at the old Warner Brothers Studio Store.
The Pooh lights and animations were bought at a friends place that sells
larger animated figures for Christmas and other holidays of which I have
several ( some Disney some not).
A few of the Disney and other cartoon characters Hallmark. The Nick JR and
Opus ones are Carlton. |
