No offense intended toward the Highly Coordinated,
but you absolutely don't have to go this far on the coordination
front! Frankly, I think when every last detail is color coordinated
and themed, it starts to look like an event where the guests have
to feel out of place unless they play along and wear appropriately
colored clothing with themed accents!! If you want to use gold
as a color that helps you coordinate your wedding decorations, go
right ahead. No one is going to park you in front of each decoration
and muse over whether or not you go. It *might* be a relevant issue
if you were putting your bridesmaids in gold gowns. Other than that,
don't sweat it. |

You'll be a lot happier on your wedding day if you stick to your guns
and your own personal style and wants. Rather than poinsettias for
your bouquet, what about a small cluster of white flowers with holly and
some kind of evergreens and pretty, wide, white satin or sheer ribbon?
You could always cut the gold centers out of the poinsettias for the
cake and stick some kind of small, fake silver berries in their place.
I'd ask my florist for recommenations rather than the "designer".
Most people aren't exceedingly anal about mixing silver and gold...in fact,
that could be part of your color scheme.... |
