Can't wait to see the video! Believe me, I know what goes into an event
like this and if you've never done it, imagine as tired as you can possibly be and multiply that by
six ...
I'm determined not to miss the next one ... which means doing it myself. There is a venue herein the New Haven area called The Space . where I know I can produce anything at any
time, I just haven't had the chance yet. Its capacity is 150 (i.e. about twice as big as The Lily
Pad), and its vibe is like a large comfy living room, with tchotchkes everywhere and literally
thousands of Christmas lights hung all over the ceiling ... and best of all, it's very much air
conditioned! yeah, and a pretty good sound system, too. It's an all-ages venue so it's a
coffee/tea bar only. Plenty of parking, and mere blocks from a 24-hour diner that I'm sure wouldn't
mind getting taken over by a gaggle of ectophiles before and/or after. New Haven is easily reached
via public transportation, and shuttle service from the train/bus station could definitely be
arranged. I've had an ectofest idea percolating around in my head for literally years now, but
maybe I'll finally get off my ass and do it next year. How does this time of year work for everybody ... because of how my life generally shakes out it'd
have to be a bit later though, say the last weekend of September. ? |

I first apologize for sending this on list, however can't get seem to find
my "welcome to ecto" email. I *love* getting occasional emails on different artists, as well as the
many personalities on this board. My interest in finding new music
artists, or enjoying faves, waxes and wanes, with daily life. 30+ emails a day lately, all ecto orgin (mostly due to the recent ectofest
excitement). Too much for this chickita. I noticed there is the alt.music.ecto website, unsure if that's still
active. Perhaps I need to unsubscribe and look at this occasionally to get
my fix. I have yahoo groups for that need in some of my occasional interests, and
it's just as easy as logging into yahoo once a week. Is the ecto group
available for viewing in a manner like this? I hate the options only being
"off" and "on" like a faucet. I wanna keep the flow, but not have my email box overrun, ya know?
