The wife and the kids and the granduns and I like to ride around and look at
the Christmas lights on the houses around Knoxville. ( Not the best thing for
the ecology, I'm sure......but it's cheap.) If anyone knows of some really good
decorated houses, please let me know. |

-In our family that was called two-bockin'. We all bundled up and walked
about the neighborhood. When my brother was very small, we'd only go about
two blocks in every direction to see the lights our neighbors had put out0.
He therefore named the annual adventure "two-bockin'". -I remember when we lived in Bristol TN/VA about seven years ago there were
some pretty spectacular Christmas lights on the homes. One in particular
on the Tennessee side in a nice residential area near Steele Creek Park was
decorated to excess...it had everything in lights, including Christmas -My dad lives in Damascus, VA, about a mile from TN. He doesn't put many
lights in front of his house, but he puts a huge cross (of lights) on his
roof. He lives down in the cove, and the cross is for the mountain folk. He used to live in Abingdon, but this Nazi lady who edits the paper there
declared that only white lights should be used at Christmas. She wrote
mean things about folks that used colored lights |
