Outdoor and house Christmas lights

What X-10 device should be used to turn on/off the outdoor and house Christmas lights? I have two GFI outdoor outlets and about 2,000 lights. Are appliance modules adequate or should I replace present outlets with with X-10 outlets? it gets cold here in Indiana

-I am in Illinois on a farm and have used regular appliance modules for at least 7 or 8 years for outdoor Christmas lights with no problem. I wrap plastic bags with twist ties over the end around the modules and where it connects to the outdoor outlets (almost too wide to fit in next to the outlet cover but stays put o.k.). Snow, rain, cold, ice, never been a problem. Just make sure you watch the wattage for that many lights--don't exceed the rating for each module. I assign all the lights to the same number and then only have one setting or button to worry about. Indoors I can create a special effect of dimming the lights on the tree using lamp modules, and use an appliance module to turn wings of the the motorized angel tree topper on and off. Christmas lights are what I originally got into X10 for. -I use a bunch of lamp modules for my in-house window lights. There are 10 windows on the front of my house, but I only use 5 modules as there are 2 windows in each room and use an extension cord to "split" them. I have their code set to the same code as my family room light, which comes on 10 minutes before dusk with ActiveHome. They all dim to 75%. This takes the "bite" out of the family room light, but still gives off enough light. It isn't even noticeable on the little 7W bulbs in the windows. The best part is I just plug them in each year and don't have to fiddle with timers or macros or anything - they just start working that night because they share an existing code!
