Let's say I have a collection of sprites which I've grouped to form one
image. How do I put a one pixel thick rectangle or square border around the
whole thing to present something like a banner ad? I know it's probably
simple, but I can't figure it out ? |

Simple. With your sprite selected: 1) Click on the Effects tool icon. 2) Select the Edge effect; Details tab. 3) Thickness: 1 Slider 100% and pick the color you want. 4) Click Apply. **Now comes the tricky part** 5) Zoom in on any corner to 1000% magnification. 6) Click on the Paint tool icon. 7) With your image selected, click the Paintbrush (top left corner). 8) Over to the right, top slider: 1, bottom slider 100. 9) Over to the bottom left, 4th button from the left looks like an "H" over
a triangle; click it. 10) Carefully click over the missing corner pixel to fill it in. 11) Repeat for the other corners. 12) Do the Happy Dance!
A note about this "H" button; it allows you to "paint" over transparent
areas of a sprite. Without clicking this button, MIC does not allow you to
paint over a transparent area. This really comes in handy if you've messed
up while erasing a section of your sprite and you want to go back and make
corrections.
But maybe somebody can explain the icon to me. Am I missing something? An
"H" over a triangle? I don't get it. Maybe I need more coffee!
Speaking of getting it; my family and I were out looking at Christmas lights
last night when we came upon a most unusual display; it was a 6 foot high
red circle with a red line going through it over a green letter "L". Hmmm,
we all thought. What does *that* mean? Everybody took a stab at it: "No
Lights?", "No Live trees?", "No Love?", "No 'L'...No 'L'...No 'L' --- then
it dawned on me. "You guys! NOEL!! Get it? |
