I am looking for patterns for Christmas lawn decorations made out of plywood. I
have checked my local hardware, lumber , and craft stores in a 50 mi. radius.
All tell me the same story that we are getting a lot of request for them but
we don't carry them.Or have you tried this place or that place . When I do
check them out I find that they don't have it . I am looking for a Santa and
reindeer or a nativity scene. I did come across an 800 number for one but it
will take 4 to 6 weeks just to get the catalog. I would like to do this for
this christmas, so if anybody has the patterns or knows where I can get them
please let me know |

-There should be magazines devoted to that type of woodworking. I have
customers come into our copy shop and enlarge patterns (non copywrited
designs made to be enlarged) from that kind of book. Have you looked
on your magazine stands? Might find a treasure trove. -Several years ago I found THE Nativity scene I wanted in a children's
book. I took it to the local elementary school where they let me use a
larage blank wall and an overhead projector (after school of course). I
traced the picture onto butcher paper. Then, using carbon paper, I
transfered it to a piece of plywood. My then husband cut it out for me
and I painted it. Attached a 2x4 with a hinge to the back so it stands
up like a picture frame. For a couple of years it stood under the tree
in out front yard and I put twinkle lights in the tree to make the
stars.
It was really very easy! I think the hardest part is the cutting out of
the wood. |
