I am in a bit of a quandary. Our church is very plain. NO nails in the
doors (no, they don't put stuff up for Christmas on any of the doors).
ANd they have told us we can't put nails in them.
I am making wreaths to hang, but can't figure out to hang them! I don't
like those over the door hangers b/c, to me, it looks cheap (pls. no
flames), esp next to a white satin wreath and big bow.
I thought of maybe making two wreaths, connected by a long white satin
ribbon and then draping it over the doors so that one is inside and the
other is outside. Problem is, that means I have to make *8* wreaths (4
entrance doors).
There has to be another way...Anyone doing door decorations? |

-There's a commercial that's been playing a lot lately which advertises
a hook with an adhesive that is supposedly both strong and easy to remove.
I think the manufacturer is 3M, but I'm not sure.
Genevieve (who's obviously been watching too much TV) -If the church doors are glass, use a suction cup to hang your wreaths. I
have used this, when brides have ordered wreaths or swags for the doors
at the church or reception. Be sure to get the appropriate size to handle
the weight of your wreath.
Another thing you could try would be a thumb tac on the top edge of the
door. Suspend the wreath from that with heavy duty fishing line. If you
can't use the tac (even though it won't damage anything or be seen) try
using the fishing line idea over both sides of the door and then attach
the wreaths. -go to your bookstore and check out a few of the decorating
magazines -- Veranda and Southern Accents for starters. You can
cover that S-shaped over the door hanger with a very wide ribbon
and then hang your wreath. It looks great! I know they used
this on one of the Christmas issues. |
