What is Santa bringing you?Baby Christmas Ornaments ?
quite frankly, as I get older, it just seems harder to come up
with a list--either feels too self-indulgent when there are so many
things we need as a family or nothing striking me as something very
"gifty", but rather more likely to show up on my household shopping
list. I mean, I really *do* need a new frying pan, but it's kind of
sad to ask for that for Christmas, especially since I don't
particularly like to cook. lol! As I get older, it seems the gifts
get more practical. So, Karl's been pushing me for a list, and some of
the stuff I come up with is the following: * Plastic surgery--tummy tuck, body contouring and liposuction. I
watch alot of plastic surgery channel, aka Discovery Health. (this is
first on my gift list every year because it makes anything else on the
list seem much more affordable, and I like to see him roll his eyes. I
don't really want it, unless, of course, I win the lottery) * Elliptical trainer. Not realistic that I can get one of these, as
they are rather pricey. Still, I can dream. I'm thinking I'll look
for one used about 6 months after Christmas when people get tired of
using them as clothing racks. * Sewing scissors sharpened. I'm finally able to get back into my
sewing as the boys get older. * Sewing machine tuned up. * Large frying pan * New bed mattress. Another expense we cannot really afford right now,
but hell, I'll put it on the list and see what happens. * Perfume * New flooring for the kitchen. Hoping for bamboo flooring. Pricey
and not realistic like most of my other items. * New pair of shoes for work * New bathrobe. Last one Karl bought for me was in 1993. It's been a
workhorse but it's getting pretty worn out.
Anyway, what have you put on your Santa wish list that you'd like to
receive this year? Mine's pretty lame. Of course, you should see the
list I have for when I win the lottery. |

-Here is my list, in no particular order (but the same order that it's on the
official list, that got sent out to all of the family. * Liz Claiborne Straight Leg jeans, size 12, any color * Cute tops, size M or L, preferably ¾ sleeve. * Spa day * Housecleaning Service * Brite Smile/Zoom Teeth Whitening * Date night with my hubby (this could mean GC to restaurant, or
babysitting, or both) * 2 Waterford Golden Lismore Tall White Wine glass (always looking to fill
the set from the wedding registry) * 4 Waterford Golden Lismore Tall Contenental Champagne flutes * William Sonoma liquid hand soap in Cassis regular size, or Kaffir Lime
refill size, don't need lotion or chrome holder *GC for Pottery Barn, Crate & Barrel, Restoration Hardware, Macy's,
Nordstrom *The Muppet Show DVD set
I've also thought about some sort of facial laser skin resurfacing. I
wouldn't mind getting rid of the color variations -- I've got darker patches
on the sides of my face and forehead than in the middle. I wouldn't mind
evening it out. But I'm not sure what that costs, and if I'd bother putting
it on a Christmas list. -We don't do Christmas gifts for each other, or for family members..
ie.. sister..etc. Only parents. ANYHOW, we usually get something for
the house. This year its granite in both bathrooms.
If I was to make a list it would look like this: 1. perfume--nothing grandma smelling 2. black, heather grey, navy blue sweats 3. new bra's and panties that actually fit 4. candles, lots of them
I am getting laser resurfacing this January---but that is my 40th bday
gift. I am debating on a tummy tuck. We have been discussing it quite a
bit. -DH doesn't give gifts (except under duress from his brother/SIL last
year when they were visiting :-) but this year he has gotten us a
tempur-pedic mattress ($2000) and paid off my braces (another $2000 or
so) so I feel pretty lucky--I've gotten myself a few scrapbook items and
found a nice little cart for them on sale at Costco for $22.99, so that
was a bonus.
I've also just ordered tickets for us to go see the Nutcracker ballet
because I love it every year, and now Maya does too...of course, DH
could care less, but as long as he doesn't snore too loud during the
performance, I'll be happy! ;-)
I'm on a scrapping website, and we are doing the Secret Santa thing, and
mine has already delivered the package for me to SUFFER until Christmas
actually gets here! :-) Arrrgh. Oh, and on Monday night a moms group I'm
in had our annual Christmas dinner and Ornament Exchange. We do pretty
ornaments and 'ugly' ornaments--it's a hoot to see some of the
things people find that are actually sold as Christmas ornaments. I came
away with a beautiful 3D gingerbread house for Maya (every year we visit
my sister and TRY to make one of these, but they are always a disaster,
but we have a blast trying anyway) and for ugly, I actually got 2--one
is a small owl made out of that stuff you use to scrape mud off your
shoes, very rough, hard bristly stuff? and the other was a "Bratz"
looking female fish with giant glittery lips...oh my gosh. Similar to
these http://tinyurl.com/ygygt9 but without the hats. :-) :-) The girl
next to me did not want the owl so she said I could have it. He looked
kind of sad so I felt sorry for him...besides,I used to collect owls and
I'll just pop him in my collection and he'll fit right in.
I didn't get the fish originally either, I got this Red Hat
woman/mermaid thing with gigantic boobs and a heart tattoo on one of
them-- http://tinypic.com/view/?pic=2i89c1d Someone else loved it so
we traded out. |
